Lancaster, Pa. – (10/26/2023) – With the conclusion of last night's league contests, Commissioner Jessica Huntley is pleased to announce the seeding for the 2023 Atlantic East Conference (AEC) Women's Soccer Championship Tournament. A 4-1-1 league record earns Marywood University the top seed in the field for the third straight postseason, while Gwynedd Mercy University secured the sixth seed with four ties; Cabrini University (T, 0-0 on Oct. 4), Marymount University (T, 1-1 on Oct. 11), Neumann University (T, 2-2 on Oct. 21), and Centenary University (NJ) (T, 0-0 on Oct. 25), and Senior Day win over Immaculata University (W, 1-0 on Oct. 14).
 
Between the Pacers and the Griffins, the remainder of the 2023 AEC Women's Soccer Championship Tournament field includes #2 Marymount University (3-1-2 AEC), #3 Cabrini University (3-2-1), #4 Neumann University (2-1-3), and Centenary University (NJ) (1-1-4). Immaculata University was eliminated from postseason play with a 0-6 conference record. As the top two seeds, Marywood University and Marymount University receive a bye through the First Round, which will take place on Saturday, October 28. The AEC First Round schedule sends #6 Gwynedd Mercy University to #3 Cabrini University for a 3:00 p.m. contest, while #5 Centenary University visits #4 Neumann University for a 1:00 p.m. contest.
 
7-4-5 overall, Gwynedd Mercy University was led by sophomore forward Bethany Beinlich (Forksville, Pa.), two solid sophomore goalkeepers, forward Ksenia Semenovykh (Warrington, Pa.) and a host of freshmen who made an impact on the Griffins' success. Semenovykh currently leads the Griffins with 26 points (12 goals, 2 assists); she ranks first in the AEC for shots (72), second in goals (12), tied for first in game-winning goals (4), and tied for second in points (26). Beinlich supported with a strong sophomore campaign that included six goals (12 points) on 39 shots. In goal, Natalie Gablein (Philadelphia, Pa.) (36 saves, 3-0-1) and Madisson Ronn (Warrington, Pa.) (82, 2-4-4) combined for 118 saves and a 5-4-5 record. The latter played a majority of the minutes (779:59) with 82 saves on a .828 save percentage and a 1.96 goal-against average (GAA).

Gwynedd Mercy University and Cabrini University battled to a 0-0 tie in their October-4 meeting. The Cavaliers outshot the Griffins 15-6, but were unable to break the scoreless stalemate thanks to Ronn's work between the pipes. She totaled nine saves in the full 90:00 minutes, while Semenovykh finished the game with a team-high three shots.
