true Lancaster, Pa. – (10/2/2023) – Gwynedd Mercy University swept this week's Atlantic East Conference (AEC) Player and Defensive Players of the Week honors as freshman forward Ksenia Semenovykh (Warrington, Pa.) and sophomore goalkeeper Madisson Ronn (Warrington, Pa.) were respectively honored for their performances in a 3-2 triumph over Wilson College (Sept. 27).
 
Weekly Honor Roll recognition was given to Cabrini University junior defender Grace Langefeld (Hainesport, N.J.), Neumann University sophomore forward Catherine Miller (Laurel Springs, N.J.) and sophomore goalkeeper Alexis Navarro (Valley Stream, N.Y.), Marymount University junior goalkeeper Hannah Mockenhaupt (Fairfax, Va.), and Marywood University junior forward Riley Mulherin (Clarks Summit, Pa.).     
 
Gwynedd Mercy University (5-3-1) welcomed Wilson College (7-3-1) to the Athletic Complex for Wednesday (Sept. 27) night's contest. Semenovykh's natural hat trick (22:30, 23:42, 50:54) gave the Griffins a 3-0 edge on the Phoenix and Ronn's 17-save performance preserved the victory while earning her, her first win (1-3-1) of the season. The Phoenix outshot the Griffins 24-12, leaving the home side to protect their head start with a brilliant defensive effort and Ronn's outstanding performance in goal.
 
The hat trick brings Semenovykh's season goal total to 10 goals in just nine games; she currently leads both the Griffins and the league in tallies. Meanwhile, Ronn's 17-save performance is her first double-digit effort of the year.
 
Gwynedd Mercy University will play their final non-conference game on Monday, October 2, when they travel to Penn State Abington for a 4:30 p.m. kickoff.
