Penn State Brandywine (6-0-2) got the ball in the corner seven times in the first half, but Gwynedd Mercy University (1-8-1) fended off every one of them as well as 11 shots to keep the contest scoreless to halftime. In the second half, Bascone took the Griffins' first shot high in the 50th minute (49:50), Feinman fired the second high in the 54th (53:29), and a Kirby strike was blocked by the Nittany Lion defense in the 59th minute (58:48). Penn State Brandywine finally capitalized on their eventual 21-5 shot advantage with a ball over the goalkeeper in the 66th minute; 1-0 (65:26).
