Clarks Summit, Pa. - (9/1/2022) - Gwynedd Mercy University traveled to Clarks Summit University for today's season opener. There, the Griffins fell behind in the 11th minute (10:12; Okoi) before surrendering a pair of Defender tallies (80:38; Sage from Taylor, 84:19; Taylor) late in the second-half of a 3-0 final. The Defenders outshot the Griffins 11-3 in a competitive match thanks to a 10-1 corner kick advantage.

Senior defender Kevin Hanuscin (Langhorne, Pa.) took Gwynedd Mercy University's first shot late in the first half and a second late in the second half. The third Griffin shot was taken by freshman Josh Rossell (Mount Ephraim, N.J.) who took one wide of the Defender goal in the 68th minute (67:55). Senior goalkeeper John Wagner (Phoenixville, Pa.) totaled three saves in the loss (0-1).

Gwynedd Mercy University continues their early-season schedule on Saturday, September 3, when they vist Rosemont College for a 6:00 p.m. kickoff.
