Kristin Varilla (Lansdale, Pa.) traded off on the last the goals of the game, propelling the Griffins to a 13-10 victory at Goucher College (2-10). Pelczar added an assist, two ground balls, three caused turnovers, and a caused turnover to her five goals. Meanwhile, Varilla's six scores came with two ground balls and two caused turnovers.
Pelczar score the first Gwynedd Mercy University goal to tie the contest, 1-1, with 11:53 remaining in the first quarter. The next two Griffin goals came from Varilla (7:49, 2:31) and got GMercyU out of the first frame with a 3-2 edge. Anna Grace Bernicker (Merion Station, Pa.) knotted the game at 7-7 with 13:11 remaining in the third quarter and soon after fellow senior attack
Meleah Hoats (Conyngham, Pa.) gave the Gwynedd Mercy University the go-head goal; 8-7 (11:56). A pair of Varilla goals (4:13, 2:33) kept the Griffins ahead at the fourth-quarter break, 10-8, before the Pelczar/Varilla finale delivered the victory.
