Penn State Brandywine got a head start with a Gwynedd Mercy default at number three doubles; 1-0. The Nittany Lions added to the lead with wins at number one (8-0) and number two (8-7 (7-2)) doubles, 3-0; Collins and sophomore
Ian Gordynskiy (Quakertown, Pa.) forced the tiebreaker in the second flight. Penn State Brandywine extended their advantage quickly in singles, taking the default at six singles, before clinching the match with a 6-0, 6-0, win at number one singles. The Nittany Lion lead reached 6-0 before Bilbao scored his 7-5, 6-4, victory at number five singles; 6-1. Collins made it 6-2 with his 6-3, 6-2, victory at number three singles, but Penn State Brandywine soon ended the match with a 6-3, 6-4, win at number four singles.
