GWYNEDD VALLEY, Pa. – The Gwynedd Mercy field hockey team earned their first victory of the season Saturday afternoon after conquering Keystone College 3-1.

After a scoreless first quarter, Keystone got on the board 18 minutes into the game. Just two minutes later, Amber Sims answered off an assist from Lauren Jani. Jani got her own tally a few minutes later off of a feed from Kaci Murray.

The Griffins struck again in the third quarter when Haley Didinger found the back of the cage from another helper from Murray.

Gwynedd dominated on their attacking end outshooting Keystone 11-1 while also creating 11 corner opportunities.

Jani led the team with shots, having 4, while Sims, Didinger, and Murray also contributed to the shot total.

The field hockey team is back in action on Wednesday September 29th at 7:00 p.m. when the Griffins travel to Chester, Pa. for a matchup with Widener University.
