Lancaster, Pa. – (11/1/2021) – With the conclusion of the 2021 regular season schedules throughout the league, Commissioner Jessica Huntley has official released the field for the 2021 Atlantic East Conference (AEC) Women's Soccer Championship Tournament. With a 6-0 league mark, Marywood University (12-4, 6-0) earned the top spot and an Opening Round bye for the postseason playoffs. All Opening Round contests are scheduled for this Monday, November 1; as the #7 seed, Gwynedd Mercy University (4-10, 0-6) is scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. kickoff at #2 Cabrini University (8-5-3, 4-1-1).
The remainder of the AEC Opening Round contests include #6 Centenary University (4-8-1, 1-4-1) at #3 Marymount University (5-11, 4-2) (3:00 p.m.) and #5 Immaculata University (3-12, 2-4) at #4 Neumann University (6-9, 3-3) (7:00 p.m.). After the conclusion of the Opening Round, the lowest remaining seed will travel to #1 Marywood University while the second lowest remaining seed will travel to the second highest remaining seed for semifinal contests on Wednesday, November 3. The 2021 AEC Women's Soccer Championship game is scheduled for Saturday, November 6, at the site of the highest remaining seed.

Molly Flemming (Warminster, Pa.) was Gwynedd Mercy University's saving grace in the first half as she kept Cabrini University off the scoreboard despite their 15-0 shot advantage and 7-0 corner kick edge. Unfortunately, the Cavaliers proved to be too much for the Griffins in the second half as goals at 64:35, 70:51, 75:57, 87:26, separated the home side for a 4-0 AEC victory. Flemming finished with seven saves in the loss.
