Abington, Pa. - (10/27/2021) - Senior forward Hugh Lynch (Philadelphia, Pa.) landed Gwynedd Mercy University (1-17) an early 1-0 lead when he scored the first goal of the game at 6:19. The Griffins carried the lead through intermission, but Penn State - Abington (7-6-3) netted four scores in the second half as they tied the game at 64:11 and distanced themselves by a 4-1 margin with follow-up scores at 73:13, 74:06, and 74:45. Freshman forward Colby Agnella (Holland, Pa.) chipped one off the final spread, 4-2, as he finished a pass from senior forward Tyles Bascone (Wenonah, N.J.) at 89:35.

Gwynedd Mercy University totaled four shots as junior midfielder Joe Niemiec (Sicklerville, N.J.) and sophomore Mike Fienman (Philadelphia, Pa.) added the other two Griffin shots. Freshman goalkeeper Shaine Kirby (Newtown, Pa.) (0-2) made eight saves in the loss.

Gwynedd Mercy University awaits seeding for the 2021 Atlantic East Conference (AEC) Men's Soccer Championship Tournament. The quarterfinal round is schedule for the site of the higher seed on Saturday, October 30.
