St. Mary's City, MD. - (10/19/2021) -  Gwynedd Mercy University (2-1, 4-11) fell in a 5-0 Atlantic East Conference (AEC) decision at St. Mary's College of Maryland (7-6, 3-0) this afternoon. The Seahawks sported a 24-1 shot advantage and a 14-1 favor on penalty corners as they scored twice in the first quarter (6:48, 13:38) and once in each of the following frames (26:14, 39:55, 54:18). 

The Seahawks opened up the scoring six minutes into the game, 1-0 (6:48) and steadily fired shots at freshman  goalkeeper Morgan Lawless (Bristol, Pa.) (4-11) throughout the contest. She was fortunate to make eight stops on the day, while junior attack Victoria Poust (Warminster, Pa.) recorded the Griffins' only shot (11:07).
 
Gwynedd Mercy University returns to action on Wednesday, October 20, when they host Neumann University in a 6:00 p.m. AEC contest.
