Gwynedd Valley, Pa. - (10/13/2021) - Freshman goalkeeper Molly Flemming (Warminster, Pa.) and the Gywnedd Mercy University (4-7-0, 0-3-0) defense kept a majority of the Marymount University (3-9-0, 2-1-0) shots high or wide of the Griffin goal as this evening's Atlantic East Conference (AEC) contest remained scoreless at halftime despite the visitors' 14-1 shot advantage. Unfortunately, the Saints eventually broke the Gwynedd Mercy University defenses, scoring unanswered goals at 50:58, 53:03, and 56:34.; junior midfielder Emely Obregon (Fontana, Calif.) scored the last two Saint goals with her second coming on a penalty kick; 3-0.

Gwynedd Mercy University mustered some offense around the 80-minute mark, but shots from senior defender Laura Pelczar (Philadelphia, Pa.) (79:15), junior forward Raegan Kennedy (Philadelphia, Pa.) (81:51), and junior midfielder Carissa Manero (Sellersville, Pa.) (87:02) were unsuccessful in changing the outcome. Manero also offered the Griffins' only first-half shot. Flemming (4-7) totaled eight saves in the loss.

Gwynedd Mercy University continues their AEC schedule on Saturday, October 16, when they visit Marywood University for a 1:00 p.m. kickoff.
