GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. -- The Gwynedd Mercy Women's Basketball Team closed out the regular season with an 85-60 victory over Wesley on Senior Day here at The Griffin Complex.
The Griffins, who had already clinched the #3 playoff seed, will host a first-round game in the Atlantic East Tournament against #6 Neumann Monday night at 7 p.m.
Prior to the game, the team and coaching staff honored the team's three seniors,
Chyanne Fine,
Tolu Omole, and
Denise Sacco, along with their families.
The team had a balanced scoring attack as every player who stepped on the floor scored at least two points.
Jill Kane led the charge with 12 points while Omole netted 11.
Tamia Wessels added eight points, eight steals, four assists, and four boards. Fine and Sacco each netted eight.
Gwynedd led 21-13 after the first quarter as both teams scored the exact amount in the second as GMercyU led 42-26 at the half.
Sacco would open the third with a three-pointer to help stretch the lead to 20 points, where they kept the Wolverines in their rearviewmirrors en route to the win.
Jourdyn Beverly led Wesley with 19 points and 12 rebounds off the bench.
