SALISBURY, MD. -- The Gwynedd Mercy Baseball Team opened its 2020 season at nationally-ranked Salisbury, but came out on the wrong end of a 19-1 score Saturday afternoon.
T.J. Brasier collected two of the team's seven hits.
Bobby Heck tripled and would score on an RBI single from
Nate Campbell in the sixth to account for the lone run.
Starter
Brian Wildrick went four innings, allowing two earned runs on seven hits along with three K's and three walks.
The Sea Gulls' Cameron Hyder was 3-for-4 with three RBI's and three stolen bases. His two-run single in the fifth was part of a six-run frame. Salisbury plated six runs in the following inning keyed by a Brady O'Neil three-run double.
The Griffins are right back at it tomorrow against another ranked opponent in Kean. First pitch is slated in Union, N.J. for 2 p.m.
