DOVER, DE. -- Gwynedd Mercy set a program record in scoring as the Griffins notched a 115-75 win at Wesley Wednesday night in an Atlantic East Conference matchup.
The team broke the previous record of 109 points scored in a victory over Cairn back on February 8, 2014.
A total of five Griffins recorded double figures led by
Denise Sacco who tied a career high with 23 points on a personal-best seven three pointers.
Tamia Wessels netted 22 points and
Kelly Owens adding 16.
Jill Kane (12 points), along with
Shannon Carroll and
Haley Crossley (10 points apiece) also hit double digits.
Chyanne Fine and
Sydney Thompson were the top rebounders, as each pulled down seven apiece.
After the Griffins led by seven after the first quarter, the team shot over 57% in the second, outscoring the Wolverines, 38-14, in the stanza to hold a 31-point lead at the half.
Shervohnia Tolson and Jourdyn Beverly each scored 12 points to lead Wesley.
