GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. -- A late penalty kick goal was the difference as Gwynedd Mercy dropped a 1-0 defeat to visiting Albright Saturday morning.
After a tight back-and-forth affair, the Lions were awarded the kick after a foul in the box with 1:23 remaining in the second half. Alex MacDonald converted on the attempt, beating Gwynedd keeper
Tyler Blair.
Blair finished the day with three saves while Albright's Billy Mullen recorded five.
Gwynedd had five of their eight corner kicks in the second half, but could not find the back of the net.
The Griffins are right back at it on Wednesday when they host Penn State-Harrisburg beginning at 4 p.m.
