GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. -- In Gwynedd Mercy's Atlantic East Doubleheader split with Immaculata,
Dave Tatoian set another career record, as the senior became the all-time program leader doubles. Earlier this week, he set the school record for most career home runs in Wednesday's game with Ursinus.
Game one
Immaculata prevailed 11-6 in the first game as Tyler Kmiec hit for the cycle, going 4-for-4 with five RBI's to help pace IU.
Tatoian would set the doubles record as he had two with the record-breaker coming in the sixth to score a run.
Nick Mulvey tripled and scored twice while
Josh Lopez homered for the second-straight game.
The Mighty Macs plated four unearned runs in their first at-bat off starter
R.J. Boyle.
Ryan Keen knocked in a run and two runs would later score in the third on an error to make it a 4-3 game.
Kmeic had the big blow in the fifth, hitting a bases-clearing triple as part of a four spot.
Game two
The second game saw the Griffins build their lead, scoring in every inning but the fourth and eighth and getting a gem from starter
Nick DeRitis. The senior was on cruise control, striking out six with just one walk and four hits in eight innings. He tossed seven shutout innings before yielding three runs in the eighth.
Keen got the Griffins on the board first, smacking a three-run homer in their first at-bat for his third longball on the year.
Justin Curtin added two hits and two RBIs while Lopez scored twice and walked.
The team returns to action on Monday when they welcome The College of New Jersey on Monday.
