LANGHORNE, PA. -- With a 7-2 win at Cairn on Saturday, Gwynedd Mercy won its fourth match in a row.
"The match was played in highly windy conditions, which definitely affected both teams' performances," head coach
Jim Holt stated. "The doubles matches all were not a true indicator as to how the matches went, as they were well played matches. When first doubles fell into a 0-3 hole, I was curious as to how they would respond. They really amped it up, and went on a rampage winning eight of the last 9 games for the decisive victory. I certainly was impressed".
"While it was a tough match, second doubles really took control after a slow start as well.
Sydney Thompson (Syd the Kid) and Nikki Diaz really played well together once again. Their games complement each other nicely, with each bringing different aspects to the courts."
The Griffins host Delaware Valley this Wednesday.
