GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. -- Gwynedd Mercy cruised to a 14-5 victory over Mount Saint Mary at home on Saturday to snap their five-game winless streak.
Samantha Brown and
Victoria Mollitor led the offense with four goals each.
Victoria Braeunle added three scores while
Meleah Hoats,
Anna Grace Bernicker, and
Seydel Acuna also found the back of the net.
Defensively Brown kicked in a career-high four caused turnovers and added a team high four groundballs (along with five draws). Goalie
Julia Smith registered six saves as the defense held the Knights to just four shots and zero goals in the first half.
As a whole, the team totaled a season-high 16 caused turnovers
The Griffins netted four quick goals in the game's first 2:51. They would continue to tack on scores until the end of the half, where they led 12-0.
Megan Shalvey, Jackie Lindsay, and Providence Gilkey scored for Mount Saint Mary. Keeper Jackie Finkel made six saves in net.
The team welcomes Marymount here on Wednesday for an Atlantic East showdown under the lights at 7 p.m.
