GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. -- The Gwynedd Mercy University Men's Tennis team scored a 5-4 victory over Keystone College Saturday afternoon in Colonial States Athletic Conference action to give first-year head coach Pete Brzezinski his first career coaching victory.

Max Schneider and Brian Irwin put the Griffins ahead (1-0) with their #1 Doubles victory. The duo of Justin Collins and Chris Wood at #3 Doubles battled back from a 4-1 deficit to earn an 8-5 victory to retake the lead (2-1) after the first group of matches.

Schneider and Irwin would put the Griffins a head (4-1) after their straight set victories at #1 and #2 singles. The Giants would not go away quietly taking the next three singles matches to tie the contest at (4-4).

Wood would return to the court at #6 singles and would earn a straight-set victory to help the Griffins earn their first win of the young season.

GMercyU will return back to action on Tuesday when they will host Rosemont at 3:30 p.m.
