GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. -- Gwynedd Mercy battled Rosemont to a scoreless tie in the season finale for both teams on a rainy Saturday afternoon on Senior Day.

During halftime, the team and coaching staff took time to pay tribute to their two seniors: Josh Reimel and Gersi Hoxha and their families.

Each team had prime scoring opportunities in regulation. The Ravens thought they had a 1-0 lead but a shot from Christian Rafter clanked off the crossbar. Meanwhile, GMercyU totaled seven corner kicks in the first 45 minutes but came away empty.

Early on in the second, the Griffins got some help from the post, as it kept out a header attempt off a free kick. Later on, goalie Kace Peters stopped a point blank header just outside the six-yard line. Later in the frame, Abdul Bangura found himself out of scrum of Ravens trying to clear the ball, but his hard shot was turned away from Rosemont goalie Grant Gonzalez.

The Griffins were outshot, 5-1, in the overtimes, but were able to hold off any more Rosemont offense.

Peters finished the day with five saves while Gonzalez had four.
