GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. -- Neumann defeated Gwynedd Mercy, 8-0, Tuesday afternoon in a Colonial States Athletic Conference matchup in the Griffins 'conference opener.

GMercyU (0-8-1, 0-1 CSAC), fell behind early, as Neumann scored twice in the game's first 20 minutes. NU would lead 4-0 at the half.

Jake McDevitt and Simon Brady each scored twice for the Knights. Simon also added two assists while teammate Christian Cortese added a goal and a helper for Neumann (4-4, 2-0 CSAC).

Goalie Ryan Oyola made seven saves in the first half. Kace Peters entered after halftime and recorded four stops.

The Griffins now play the next four conference games on the road starting with Saturday's tilt at Cabrini starting at noon.
