GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. -- The Gwynedd Mercy University Baseball team fell 17-9 to Ursinus College on Monday afternoon.
Dave Tatoian continued to impress with a 3-for-4 day at the plate with a pair of doubles and RBI's. Tatoian,
Josh Lopez and
Evan Miller all homered on the day for the Griffins.

Trailing 2-0 in the home half of the first, Lopez would belt a two-run blast to tie the game at 2-2. For Lopez, it was his third longball on the season.

Ursinus would respond with nine runs in the top of the second on seven hits and three GM errors. The Griffins (12-10-1) would battle in the bottom half, thanks to a Tatoian two-run blast to plate
Nick Mulvey who singled in the previous at-bat.

The Bears would add a pair in the top of the 4th but the Griffins would respond on rbi's from
Nick Mulvey and Lopez.

Ursinus would score two runs in both the fifth and ninth innings. Greg Petorak was 3-for-4 with three doubles and two RBI's for the Bears (17-5).

In the home half of the ninth, Miller's three-run homer marked the first for his career, a deep shot to left

Ryan Downs worked scoreless innings in relief.

The Griffins now turn their attention to another non-conference match-up. They will host Penn State-Abington on Thursday afternoon at 4 p.m.
