ASTON, PA. -- Gwynedd Mercy fell at Neumann, 72-53, Saturday afternoon in a Colonial States Athletic Conference matchup.
The Griffins (9-10, 7-3 CSAC) were led by
Nicole Dombrowski who totaled 14 points and five rebounds, both team highs.
Bianca Adams chipped in eight points, three assists, and three steals but Gwynedd fell behind by six after the first and trailed 36-22 at halftime.
AAliya Hayes scored 26 points and teammate Lauren Legler added 20 for the Knights (13-6, 8-2 CSAC). Mariah Maciejewski contributed 14 points and 11 rebounds.
Down six late in the first, back-to-back baskets from
Marissa Sandone and Dombrowski made it a 14-12 game, but the Knights countered with four points of their own.
Monet McGorda connected on a three-pointer to pull GM within 22-17 at the 6:58 mark of the second, but again, Neumann put together an 8-2 run to stretch their lead into double digits. Hayes would beat the buzzer to send the teams at 36-22.
Legler's three-pointer in the third quarter opened up a 45-31 score. She would hit six treys on the day for Neumann.
Gwynedd Mercy will look to get back on track on Wednesday when they welcome Cairn in a 6 p.m. tip.
