ROSEMONT, PA. -- The Griffins picked up their first win on the season with a 14-6 CSAC win at Rosemont Saturday afternoon. The victory gives GMercyU their first in conference play.
The win was also the first for head coach
Jillian Spencer.
Carrie Kilgore led all scorers with six points on five goals and an assist.
Lauren Mitros chipped in three tallies and two helpers as Gwynedd scored five-straight goals to break a 3-3 tie in the first half and not look back.
Danae Perrymond, Kilgore and Mitros all scored in the game's first five-plus minutes to stake GM to a 3-0 lead. The Ravens answered with three of their own in the same five minute span.
Kilgore would net three of her five goals in the second half as they kept a four-goal cushion throughout.
Jennifer South had three scores for Rosemont (1-6, 0-2 CSAC).
Defensively, goalie
Bria Gillard posted five saves while Gwynedd had 16 caused turnovers, four from
Brianna Greer, tying a career-high.
The Griffins resume action on Monday when they head to Lycoming.
