SCRANTON, PA. -- Marywood edged Gwynedd Mercy, 1-0, in the semifinals of the 2016 Colonial States Athletic Conference Tournament Wednesday evening, ending the Griffin playoff chase.

The Pacers' Brianna Bruster scored in the 27th minute for the one-goal lead which turned out to be the eventual game winner. GMercyU would be outshot, 9-4, in the frame but goalie Kailey Hopkins would keep the Griffins in it. After making five saves in the first, she would make six in the second and get a team save to stay within reach.

Gwynedd was held without a shot over the final 8:20 as the Pacers clamped down on the Griffin offense. MU keeper Aly Moyer recorded two stops as Marywood will host Centenary for the CSAC Title game on Saturday.

The loss marks the final appearance for the team's lone senior, Ariety Fellenz. The forward has appeared in 66 games as a Griffin, totaling 12 goals and eight assists.
