Griffins Bow Out Of CSAC Tournament

2016 CSAC Men's Soccer Tournament First-Round Game

RADNOR, PA. -- Gwynedd Mercy had its season come to an end with a 3-0 loss at Cabrini in a first-round matchup of the 2016 CSAC Men's Soccer Tournament Tuesday night.

The sixth-seeded Griffins were looking to win their tenth game on the season which would have tied a program record, but Cabrini's A.J. Bishop recorded a hat trick to lift the Cavs
to the semifinal round.

Cabrini (11-6-1) was awarded a penalty kick in the 23rrd minute where Bishop beat Gwynedd goalie Ryan Oyola for the game's first goal.

Oyola would keep the score to 1-0 late into the second half, as he would make four of his five stops over the final 45 minutes, but Bishop added his second with 8:08 left to put GMercyU in a bigger deficit. Bishop would add this third with under a minute left in the contest to round out the scoring.

Cabrini goalie C.J. Serratore would make four saves.

The game marked the final time on the pitch for the team's six seniors: Adam Stangler, Neil McGarry, Chris Black, Danny Saba, Hunter Bishop, and Miles Kehs. The six were a part of two playoff teams.
