CSAC MEN'S SOCCER TOURNAMENT PAGE
GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. -- The Gwynedd Mercy University Men's Soccer team travels to Cabrini University tonight for a 2016 Colonial States Athletic Conference Championship first round match-up.
The sixth-seeded Griffins (9-10, 5-4 CSAC) return to the CSAC playoffs for the fifth time in program history to take on the third-seeded Cavaliers (10-6-1, 7-2 CSAC), who are seeking to defend their championship from a year ago.

GMercyU locked in their playoff berth with a 2-1 victory over Keystone on October 22nd. Cabrini secured a home playoff game with their win over the Giants, 2-0, to close out the regular season.

First-Team All-CSAC selection
Danny Saba will look to lead the Griffin offensive attack. The senior led GMercyU in goals (11) and points (24), while also recording four game winning goals throughout the season.Â
Chris Black (1 goal, 6 assists) and defender
Miles Kehs also picked up All-CSAC Honorable Mention selections.Â

The Cavaliers boast four All-CSAC First-Team selections. Led by the 2016 CSAC Player of the Year A.J. Bishop (14 goals, 6 assists); Bobby Kane (7 goals, 1 assist), defender Ryan New and goalie CJ Serratore (1.22 GAA, 7 shutouts).

This will be the fourth playoff match-up between both teams. The Griffins won the most recent in 2011 3-0 while Cabrini won both meetings in 2009 and 2010.

In other first round action, Tuesday #4 Keystone will host #5 Neumann. Waiting in the semifinals on Thursday November 3rd is #1 Centenary and #2 Immaculata. The semifinal winners will meet on Saturday November 5th at the highest remaining seed to decide the CSAC Championship.
