GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. -- The Griffins picked up second straight CSAC win against Clarks Summit with a 1-0 victory Saturday afternoon.
Gwynedd Mercy (6-5, 2-0 CSAC) took an early lead twelve minutes into the game when
Matt Saba set up a perfect scoring opportunity for brother
Danny Saba for the senior's seventh goal of the season. The assist was the first of the season for Matt while Danny would eventually notch his fifth career game-winning goal.
The Griffins played stellar defense only allowing Clarks Summit two shots in the first half while Gwynedd maintained a majority of the possession, racking up eight.
Goalie
Ryan Oyola made two saves for his first shutout of the season and third of his career. Ben Campbell recorded four stops for the Defenders (4-7, 0-2 CSAC).
The second half mirrored the first with the Griffins out shooting the Defenders, 10-4, and 16-8 for the game. Gwynedd also produced seven corner kicks.
Gwynedd will host Delaware Valley this Tuesday, Oct 4th for a non-conference match up.
