ROSEMONT, PA. -- Gwynedd Mercy improved to 11-3 and 5-0 in Colonial States Athletic Conference play with an 86-66 CSAC victory at Rosemont on Saturday.
Charlotte Kucowski led four players in double digits as the junior registered 25 points, a career high, along with nine rebounds. Senior
Olivia Bradford chipped in 15 points with teammates
Chandler DiFebbo and Juliana Hoisington each scoring 12. The Griffins, who posted their third win in a row, would shoot a season-best 47.7% from floor (31-of-65).
Kucowski would score 19 of her game-high point total in the first half as GMercyU never trailed in the contest. DiFebbo's three-point play gave the Griffins a 16-6 lead in the first. The Ravens would get to 19-15 after one.
Rosemont (3-9, 1-4 CSAC) would look to take a lead in the second, but GM used a quick 8-0 run in just over a minute capped off by a trey from sophomore
Larissa Leyes, to open up a 35-23 edge. Gwynedd would shoot 50% in the frame and head into the locker room with a 43-35 lead.
Bradford's triple early in the third restored a double-digit lead the rest of the way and later, an 11-0 Gwynedd run in the fourth opened up a sizable advantage.
Jasmyn Parker led the Ravens with 14 points, hitting three of the team's three pointers. Rosemont, who shot over 40% in the first half, was held to a 29% effort over the final two periods.
Gwynedd Mercy returns to action on Wednesday, January 13th when they welcome Notre Dame of Maryland in a CSAC clash starting at 6 p.m.
