MEN'S RESULTS
WOMEN'S RESULTSSHIPPENSBURG, PA. -- The Griffins headed out to Shippensburg University for the 11th annual Paul Kaiser Classic on Saturday. Also some team members had a chance to run at the prestigious Penn Relays over the weekend as well.
Here are some of the highlights from Shippensburg:
One the women's side, the team of freshmen
Emily Makara (Holland, Pa./Council Rock South) and
Brittany Finn (Willow Grove, Pa./Upper Moreland) and seniors
Christina Smith (Springfield, Pa./Springfield) and
Kaitlin Iffrig (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury) finished third in the 4x800 meter relay with a time of 10:27.83, nearly missing an ECAC qualifying standard by just 15 seconds..
Junior
Zakiyyah Richardson (Morrisville, Pa./Pennsbury) came in sixth in the 100 meters in a time of 12.87s.
Sophomore
Cierra Adkins (Philadelphia, Pa./Hallahan) came in tenth out of 52 athletes in the 200 meters with a time of 26.74s, eighth among collegiate athletes, tying her personal best of her college career.
Senior
AnaLee Rodriguez (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury) came in 25th out of 52 athletes in the discus with a season-best mark of 29.47 meters. This is her second best throw as a Griffin.
Men's
Sophomore
Chase Toliver (Mays Landing, N.J./Oakcrest) was second overall and first out of collegiate athletes in the 110 meter hurdles with his second fastest time of the season, 14.88s.
Junior
Bobbie Stone (Philadelphia, Pa./West Catholic) came in ninth out of 51 athletes in the 400 meters with a time of 50.34s, registering his third best collegiate time. He then he came back to finish 19th out of 102 athletes in the 200 meters with a time of 22.84s. This is his second best time of his college career and third time under 23s. Sophomore
Raymond Harris (Springfield, Pa./Cardinal O'Hara) was tenth in the 400 meters with his second best college time of 50.53s. He would return to the track to come in 29th in the 200 meters with a time of 23.08s.
Freshman
Matt Brown (Philadelphia, Pa./Roman Catholic) was 21st out of 64 runners in the 1500 meters with a time of 4:11.81s.
The team of Stone, freshman
Kylil Curry (Coatesville, Pa./Coatesville), sophomore
Ben Keliojor (Norristown, Pa./Norristown), and Toliver ran a season best with a time of 43.36s finishing 10th overall in the men's 4x100 meter relay.
Rookie
Byron Coleman (Plymouth Meeting, Pa./Plymouth-Whitemarsh) was tenth in long jump with a jump of 6.17m. Sophomore
Matt Forsythe (Philadelphia, Pa./Father Judge) tied his personal best in long jump with a jump of 5.83m.
On Thursday, the women's 4x100 team of Richardson, Smith, junior
Christina Ng (Pembroke, Ma./Pembroke) and Adkins went to historic Franklin Field for the Penn Relays where they finished 81st against schools from Divisions I, II, and III.
On Friday, the men's 4x100 team of Stone, Curry, Kelojor, and Toliver finished 57th overall and seventh in their heat in the collegiate race.
Both the men's and women's squads will prep for their second home meet of the season, next Sunday, May 2nd when they welcome CSAC schools, Keystone, Immaculata, Marywood, and Neumann.
