GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. -- The #2 seed Gwynedd Mercy University Women's Soccer team will host #4 seed Marywood University Wednesday afternoon in a Colonial States Athletic Conference Semifinal match-up starting at 5 p.m.

The Griffins are led by 2015 CSAC Coach of the Year Neil Johnson. Coach Johnson has leads the Griffins to their eighth playoff appearance under his nine-year tender.

Gwynedd defeated Marywood, 1-0, back on October 20th in the team's lone regular season match-up. The Griffins have been unbeaten in their last nine contests, outscoring opponents 18-7 during that stretch.

Senior goalkeeper Jess Tadley, the 2015 CSAC Defensive Player of the Year, leads a talent filled defense along with fellow seniors and first team All-CSAC Selections Kerri Petroski and Megan Gifford with second team All-CSAC pick senior Allison Bigos. Tadley posted an 0.80 goals against average during the season adding five shutouts during her senior campaign.

Leading the Griffin offense is first team All-CSAC selection Meghan Petroski. The sophomore led GM with 15 goals and eight assists. Honorable Mention choice Morgan McAndrews along with Ariety Fellenz will look to provide an offensive spark as well. Fellenz recorded seven goals on the season while McAndrews added four.

The Pacers last loss came at the hands of the Griffins but have posted a 3-0-1 record in their last four contests after defeating the #5 seed Keystone College, 2-1, on Monday night with Brianna Bruster and Julie Youngman each scoring goals for the Marywood.

Marywood had six players recognized in the CSAC end of the year awards: Elizabeth Carlson and Amanda Allikmaa were first-team selections. Megan Swiecicki and goalie Aly Moyer were second-team picks while Youngman and Danielle Rill were honorable mention selections.

This will be the ninth-straight appearance for the Pacers in the postseason. They last won the CSAC Championship in 2008 with a 2-0 win over the Griffins. The Griffins will be looking for their first title since 2001.

Both teams are no stranger to each other in the postseason. The Griffins bested Marywood 1-0 in the 2012 playoffs while the Pacers won match-ups in 2008 and 2009. The Griffins are 3-0-1 against Marywood in the team's last four match-ups.

The winner of Wednesday's contest will face the winner of #1 Cabrini vs #6 Rosemont in the other semifinal match-up. #6 Rosemont defeated #3 Centenary 3-2 in double overtime on Monday afternoon to earn the semifinal berth. The CSAC Championship will be held Saturday at the site of the highest remaining seed.
