Gwynedd Mercy 2, Keystone 1

BOX SCORE

LAPLUME, PA. -- Junior Theo Horozoglou (Holland, Pa./Council Rock South) did it again, scoring a late game-winning goal, her third in the last four games, to help lift Gwynedd Mercy to a 2-1 win at Keystone.

The Griffins (6-4, 4-0 CSAC), winners of five in a row and four-straight CSAC games, stay unbeaten in conference play with their third road league win.

Horozolou scored twice, both in the second half. She now has registered game-winning goals in games at Marywood, at Neumann, and now at Keystone. Her final score came with 1:41 in regulation as a shot off a move just inside the box hit the right post and past Keystone keeper Katelyn Coon.

The win also avenges a close Giant win last season as Keystone would score a goal with one second remaining in double overtime to best the Griffins, 2-1, in Gwynedd Valley.

Keystone would take a 1-0 lead in the first half as Olivia Kasuba would one time an errant cross that hit a GM defender right before the break.

In the second, the Griffins upped the offense, outshooting the Giants, 9-1, in the stanza and 15-6 for the game. Horozoglou's first goal came just 1:07 into the second half as she lifted a shot over the head of Coon from the right side.

Coon would finish with five saves. Gwynedd keeper Jess Tadley (Cherry Hill , N.J./Cherry Hill West) recorded two stops.

Gwynedd Mercy will continue CSAC play on Saturday when they travel to Cedar Crest in a 3 p.m. start.
