Gwynedd Mercy 2, Cedar Crest 1

BOX SCORE

ALLENTOWN, PA. -- Gwynedd Mercy made it six in a row, taking down Cedar Crest, 2-1, in CSAC action.

Goals from freshman Larkin Clark (Aston, Pa./Sun Valley) and senior Casey Gaughan (Philadelphia, Pa./Villa Joseph Marie) and five saves from goalie Jess Tadley (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill West) was all the Griffins (7-4, 5-0 CSAC) to stay unbeaten in conference play.

Larkin would score her fist collegiate goal in the 23rd minute off an assist from fellow freshman Meghan Petroski (Philadelphia, Pa./Little Flower), where it stood at the half. Gaughan netted her team and conference-leading ninth goal at the 58:38 mark. Senior Sara Nance (Lansdowne, Pa./Archbishop Prendergast) added the assist.

Tadley would have her shutout bid denied as the Falcons (2-9-1, 0-4 CSAC) got a goal from Breonna Lewis with just under 20 minutes to play in regulation.

The stats were close between the teams as Cedar Crest outshot Gwynedd, 9-8, and had a 3-2 corner kick advantage.

Gwynedd Mercy hosts Alvernia on Thursday before welcoming Cairn on Saturday.
