RADNOR, PA. -- The Gwynedd Mercy University Women's Soccer team hit the road on Saturday traveling to the defending CSAC champions Cabrini in a rematch of last season's conference championship with an ironic 1-1 tie.

Both teams were held scoreless until the 73rd minute until Cabrini took the lead when MaryKate McCann found the back of the net. The Griffins would capitalize twenty one seconds later as freshman Ariety Fellenz (Jackson, N.J. / Jackson Liberty) scored her first collegiate goal on an assist from Allison Bigos (Sicklerville, N.J. / Paul VI).

Sophomore Jess Tadley (Cherry Hill, N.J. / Cherry Hill West) had a career day in goal for Gwynedd as she recorded 13 saves to set a new career high. Her counterpart Marissa Jenkins stopped four shots for the Cavaliers.

In last year's title game, the teams officially tied 1-1 but it was Cabrini who took the championship with a win in penalty kicks.

The Griffins return to the road on Thursday as they play at Cairn University. Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m.
