BOX SCORE

GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. -- Two goals in each half helped the Gwynedd Mercy Men's Soccer Team to its second-straight victory in a 4-1 win over visiting Bryn Athyn on Thursday.

Junior Ryan Roedel (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy) led the offense registering a career-high five points on two goals and an assist. Senior Trevor Sotell (Cinnaminson, N.J./Cinnaminson) registered his second multi-point game in a row, recording a goal and an assist.

Freshman Danny Saba (Dallas, Pa./Dallas) also scored for the Griffins (2-6), who outshot the Lions, 29-1.

Roedel and Sotell would hook up for the game's first tally at the 10:43 mark when Sotell would blast in a short cross into the box for his team-leading fourth goal. Sotell would return the favor less than two minutes later as he set up Roedel for his first score of the year.

Bryn Athyn (1-4) would cut the lead in half minutes later as Alex Pafford finished a short run to beat GM goalie Greg Gengaro (Bloomsbury, N.J./Phillipsburg).

The Griffin offense pressed and pressed into the second half, as the pressure paid off in the 65th minute when Roedel hit a strike from the right side to the far left corner past Lion goalie Johnny Walker.

Saba would add his tally in the 84th minute to round out the scoring.

Walker made 11 saves for Bryn Athyn.

Gwynedd Mercy returns to action on Saturday when they travel to Widener for a 4 p.m. kickoff.
