Gwynedd-Mercy dropped their season opener to DeSales Friday afternoon 3-0.
The Griffins were unable to match the offensive fire power of the Bulldogs after Megan Strauser and Taylor Batcsics put up two goals on the scoreboard in the first half for DeSales. Strauser's goal came at the 33:03 mark and Batcsics scored with forty seconds remaining in the half.
In the second half Jamie Barna found the back of the net at the 55:19 mark for DeSales to put the Bulldogs ahead for good.
Sophomore goalie
Jess Tadley (Cherry Hill, N.J. / Cherry Hill West) recorded three saves on the day. Her counterpart Michelle Churchman keep GM off the board recording her first shutout of the season.
The Griffins return back to action tomorrow night traveling to Wesley. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
