GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. -- Gwynedd Mercy suffered a heart wrenching 2-1 overtime defeat to Centenary on Saturday afternoon in CSAC action.

The Cyclones scored early, finding the back of the net at the 1:40 mark when Antonio Cabrera made it 1-0 when he found the ball in the middle of a scramble in the box off of a corner kick. The Griffins (5-10-1, 1-4 CSAC) responded when senior Dan Panepresso (Philadelphia, Pa. / Archbishop Ryan) found the equalizer scoring on a hard shot to the right corner from twenty five yards out.

Sophomore goalie Greg Gengaro (Bloomsbury, N.J. / Phillipsburg), who recorded a season high ten saves in net, made a spectacular diving stop on a shot just inside the box right before the half.

In the 53rd minute, Panepresso had another scoring chance and as he split two defenders for a short breakaway, but his shot was wide left. Nick Telle would score the game winner for Centenary when he put back a shot that hit off the post 4:22 into the extra session.

Jesse Goleman stopped four shots for the Cyclones (8-5-2, 5-1 CSAC), who outshot Gwynedd, 23-9.

The Griffins start a huge week to keep their playoff hopes alive traveling to Rosemont on Tuesday with kickoff scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
