BOX SCORE

GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. – Gwynedd-Mercy saw a late Cabrini goal in regulation to force overtime where the two teams played to a 1-1 tie in a Colonial States Athletic Conference game.

After an early goal from junior Alyssa Figueroa (Sewell, N.J./Clearview), the Cavs scored with 1:33 in regulation. GM would later survive a missed penalty shot in the first OT to preserve the tie.

The Griffins (3-6-2, 1-1-2 CSAC) struck early at the 7:03 mark as Figueroa took a nice feed on a through ball from junior Michelle Pool (North Wales, Pa./North Penn) where she was able to slip a shot under Cabrini goalie Maddy Edwards. The goal was the first for Figueroa of her career.

It stayed 1-0 into the second where both teams fired off six shots apiece.

The Cavs were able to get the equalizer off the foot of Dana Drake as she was able to get through a scrum of players in the box off a free kick.

In the first overtime, Cabrini had a chance to win it as Gwynedd was called for a hand ball in the box, resulting in a penalty kick, but Bethany Feinberg's shot was wide right.

Edwards totaled four saves for Cabrini (2-4-2, 1-0-2 CSAC). Freshman Jess Tadley (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill West) recorded two stops. GM was outshot, 12-10, for the game, including 4-0 in extra time.

Gwynedd-Mercy will look to snap a four-game winless streak on Thursday when they host Valley Forge Christian College at 7 p.m.
