GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. – Widener handed Gwynedd-Mercy a 3-0 setback in non-conference action on Saturday.

The Pride (2-5-1) fired off 13 shots to the Griffins' six. Freshman goalie Greg Gengaro (Bloomsbury, N.J./Phillipsburg) had five saves for the Griffins (2-6).

Widener got on the board in the 14th minute on a goal from Malik Krcic with an assist from Joe Brydges. It stayed 1-0 into the second where Brydges set up D.J. DiPaola in the 52nd minute for a two-goal lead. Alec DelConte closed out the scoring with a tally in the 82nd minute.

Jakub Vauldner recorded two saves for Widener.

The Griffins will look to rebound on Tuesday when they travel to Neumann in a rematch from last season's double overtime playoff semifinal defeat. Game time is slated for 7:30 p.m.
