READING, PA. – Ursinus handed Gwynedd-Mercy a 3-0 defeat Saturday afternoon in the consolation game of the 2012 Crusader Classic hosted by Alvernia.

Leah Shaw scored a pair of goals and Kara DiJoseph made three saves for the Bears (1-1), who kept the Griffins off the scoreboard.

Gwynedd was outshot, 20-10, in the game, but a 15-1 disparity in the second half.

Freshman keeper Jess Tadley (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill West) made a total of eight saves, six of which came in a busy second stanza.

Senior Meghan Bojanowski (Southampton, Pa./St. Hubert), along with juniors Maura Gifford (North Wales, Pa./Lansdale Catholic) and Michelle Pool (North Wales, Pa./North Penn) were named to the all-tournament team.

The Griffins (0-2) return to Gwynedd Valley on Wednesday to take on Delaware Valley in their home opener starting at 7 p.m. Live stats and live video will be available to those who can't make it.
