READING, PA. -- The Gwynedd-Mercy College Women's Soccer Team didn't quite get things off on the right foot, falling 2-0 to Alvernia in the first game of the Crusader Classic.

The Griffins will take on Ursinus, who lost to York, 1-0, tomorrow in the consolation game at 1:30.

Gwynedd was outshot, 18-3, for the contest. Freshman goalie Jess Tadley (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill West) recorded four saves for GM (0-1).

Alvernia used a goal in the 22nd minute off a corner kick and would lead 1-0 at the half. The Crusaders added their second tally in the 62nd minute.

The host Crusaders and York will matchup in the championship immediately after the consolation game.
