GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. -- Marywood handed Gwynedd-Mercy a 17-7 defeat in a Colonial States Athletic Conference game Tuesday night in the Griffins' home opener.
Senior
Brigid Dowling (Philadelphia, Pa./Little Flower) led GM (0-2, 0-1 CSAC) with a team-high four goals. She also added two caused turnovers and three draw controls.
The Pacers broke open a two-goal game late in the first half with four-straight tallies, including three in the final 1:04 of the stanza for a 10-4 halftime lead. From there, Marywood netted four more in the first five minutes of the second half.
Diana D'Achille had six goals and an assist for MU (3-1, 1-0 CSAC). Teammate Sarah Caughy chipped in three scores and two assists.

Morgan Hosler (Ephrata, Pa./Ephrata) and
Jenna D'Arcy (Horsham, Pa./Hatboro-Horsham) along with junior
Jenna Gaydosh (Philadelphia, Pa./Nazareth Academy) also scored for Gwynedd.
Marywood outshot GM, 34-19.
Griffin goalie
Marina Hubbard (Philadelphia, Pa./Little Flower) made 13 saves. Her counterpart, Marywood's Leigha Dolcemascolo recorded five.
Gwynedd-Mercy is back in action on Thursday, March 15th when they welcome Alvernia in a 4 p.m. start.
