GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA -- Gwynedd-Mercy battled to a 2-2 tie Wednesday night with CSAC rival Cabrini.

The Cavaliers (4-5-2, 2-0-1 CSAC) got on the board early at the 4:19 mark on a goal from Ryan Juhring who found the back of the net on an assist from George Lambritsios.

Gwynedd (2-9-1, 1-2-1 CSAC) tied the contest a 1-1 when junior Tim Stahl (Philadelphia, Pa. / Archbishop Ryan) played a free kick that found the head of fellow junior Christian Pembroke (Philadelphia, Pa. / Father Judge) that bounced into the goal for his first tally of the season.  Seventeen minutes later, GM would strike again this time again off another set play.  This time Stahl played a ball into the box that was deflected off the Cabrini keeper that found the foot of sophomore Ryan Roedel (Langhorne, Pa. / Neshaminy) who snuck the ball past the goal line for his first score of the season as well.  The Griffins would take a 2-1 advantage heading into halftime.

In the second half, Cabrini kept the pressure on the Griffins.  The Cavaliers would capitalize on a foul outside of the box in the 64th minute that would set up a direct kick and lead to a goal.  Cabrini sent three players to the top of the box to disguise their play, and Lambritsios was able to sneak it past Gwynedd keeper Greg Gengaro (Bloomsbury, N.J. / Phillipsburg)

Gengaro made four tremendous saves in extra time to preserve the 2-2 draw and earn a critical point in a very balanced playoff race.

Gengaro finished the night with a career high twelve saves. His counterpart Eric Nowicki posted two saves for the Cavaliers.

Cabrini outshot the Griffins, 18-8, and held a 7-6 corner advantage.

Gwynedd returns home Saturday to host CSAC opponent Marywood for a 12 p.m. kickoff.
