GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. -- Gwynedd-Mercy defeated Baptist Bible 3-0 Tuesday evening for their fifth consecutive shutout win in CSAC play.

The Griffins (9-7-2, 6-2-2 CSAC) got on the board in the first half when freshman Megan Gifford (North Wales, Pa. / Lansdale Catholic) broke past the back line of the defense and beat Katelyn King with her shot to put GM up 1-0 at the 16:13 mark.  Under three minutes later, senior Meghan Bojanowski (Philadelphia, Pa. / St. Hubert) dribbled through the box to the endline and found an opening to find the back of the net at the 19:03 mark for the 2-0 advantage.

With just over five minutes remaining in the second half freshman Kerri Petroski (Philadelphia, Pa. / Little Flower) finished the scoring for the Griffins with a blast from twenty five yards out that was buried under the cross bar for her first colligate goal.

Freshman goalie Jess Tadley (Cherry Hill, N.J. / Cherry Hill West) recorded three saves for her eighth shutout on the season.  She has not allowed a goal in over five hundred minutes over the past six games.  Her counterpart King recorded ten saves for the Defenders (5-9-2, 4-6-1 CSAC).

GM outshot BBC, 22-5, while both teams drew even in corners with six apiece.

The Griffins travel to Marywood on Saturday for a 12 p.m. kick off to conclude the regular season.  Gwynedd currently is tied for fourth in CSAC play and with a combination of a victory and some conference losses, GM can finish as high as a #2 seed.
