READING, PA. -- Gwynedd-Mercy fell to the hands of Alvernia, 1-0, in overtime in the final game of the Crusader Cup Sunday afternoon.

The Griffins (0-2-1) were outshot, 18-3, but were able to keep Alvernia off the board through the first 90 minutes of regulation.

The Crusaders' Amy Mesce ended it with her tally 1:25 into the extra session.

Senior goalie Abby Reed (Manheim, Pa./Manheim Central) made eight stops on the day.

Gwynedd-Mercy returns to action Friday night, September 9th when they host Muhlenberg starting at 7 p.m.
