BOX SCORE

PHILADELPHIA, PA. -- Gwynedd-Mercy suffered their seventh loss in a row in a 3-2 loss at Penn State-Abington on Tuesday evening.

Sophomore Dan Panepresso (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) had a goal an assist, but PSU was able to hold off GM.

The Lions (3-3) went up 1-0 early, notching a score in the third minute before tacking on another in the 22nd to lead 2-0 at halftime.

It remained that way until the 80th minute when Panepresso cut the lead to 2-1.

That's when PSU quickly tallied just over a minute later to restore a two-goal edge. The Griffins responded right after as Panepresso set up Christian Pembroke (Philadelphia, Pa./Father Judge) for the sophomore's first goal of the season, but Gwynedd could not get the equalizer.

The Lions outshot the Griffins, 16-11, while having 5 corner kicks to GM's 2.

Senior goalie Mike Leonard (Glen Mills, Pa./Cardinal O'Hara) made eight stops in net. Dan Carmack recorded four for PSU.

The Griffins return home to take on King's on Saturday at 3 p.m.
