GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. -- Marywood used an early first-half tally to hold off Gwynedd-Mercy as the Griffins fell, 1-0, in a Colonial States Athletic Conference Saturday afternoon.

In the 7th minute, the Pacer's Olivia Habicht was able to beat GM keeper Abby Reed (Manheim, Pa./Manheim Central) with a header off a corner kick from sister Lacey as Marywood struck quickly.

GM had trouble generating offense in the first half, but their lone scoring attempt ran into a bit of bad luck as junior Meghan Bojanowski (Philadelphia, Pa./St. Hubert) was able to skilfully redirect a centering pass from the right side, but her shot went right into the hands of Marywood's Emily Osborne, keeping the Griffins off the board.

Things picked up in the second, but Gwynedd (0-6-1, 0-1 CSAC) was unable to find the back of the net. With six minutes in the game, GM set up for a free kick outside the box, but could not convert as the Pacers (2-4, 1-0 CSAC) escaped with their first league win.

Reed finished nine saves while Osbourne posted four.

The Griffins return to action on Wednesday when they host Cedar Crest in CSAC action starting at 4 p.m.
