CLARKS SUMMIT, PA. -- Sophomore Dan Panepresso (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) scored the lone goal in the 23rd minute and senior goalie Mike Leonard (Glen Mills, Pa./Cardinal O'Hara) posted his second-straight shutout as Gwynedd-Mercy scored a 1-0 CSAC decision at Baptist Bible on Tuesday.

The Griffins (5-12, 3-4 CSAC) were outshot 19-11, but were able to secure three more points to move into a tie for the final playoff spot.

Leonard needed four saves to record his fourth shutout of the season and second in a row.

Panepresso netted his team-leading seventh goal as he headed in a corner kick from sophomore Trevor Sotell (Cinnaminson, N.J./Cinnaminson) at the 22:08 mark.

Dillon Bowman recorded three saves for the Defenders (7-7-1, 1-4-1 CSAC).

The playoff push continues this weekend as the Griffins host Immaculata on Saturday in a noon start.
