GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. -- Neumann scored three goals in the last 12:29 of regulation to pull away from Gwynedd-Mercy as the Griffins fell 3-0 to the Knights in a CSAC matchup Saturday afternoon.

The Griffins (3-9, 1-1 CSAC), who suffered their first league loss, hung tough for 77 minutes, bur were unable to find the back of the net for the fifth time this season.

Evan Morgan and Sam Cole each had a goal and an assist for the Knights (6-3, 3-1 CSAC) who posted their second-straight shutout.

Gwynedd had their best scoring chance late in the first half as a free kick just outside the box was sent high and over the net.

Neumann's Dan Chrashewsky broke the deadlock as he was able to knock in a ball off a corner kick in the 77th minute.

Cole would then feed Morgan on a crossing pass to which his shot beat GM goalie Mike Leonard (Glen Mills, Pa./Cardinal O'Hara) at the 86:05 mark. Morgan would return the favor just 2:09 later as Cole was able to flick a shot over the head of Leonard to cap the three-goal outburst.

Leonard and Neumann keeper Bob Mastrillo each finished with six saves respectively.

The Knights outshot Gwynedd, 13-9, and had a 7-3 corner kick edge.

Gwynedd-Mercy will host Keystone here on Tuesday in a CSAC contest starting at 4 p.m.
