RADNOR, PA. -- Gwynedd-Mercy had its title hopes dashed as the sixth-seeded Griffins fell to third-seeded Cabrini, 2-1, in a first-round game of the 2010 CSAC Men's Soccer Tournament Tuesday evening.

The Griffins, who qualified for the playoffs for the second-year in a row and pulled a first-round upset at Marywood, led 1-0 in the first half. Freshman Christian Pembroke (Philadelphia, Pa./Father Judge) netted his first goal on the season in the game's 9th minute for an early advantage.

Cabrini answered with two tallies in the second half, the first happening in the 67th minute and the eventual game-winner in the 73rd minute.

Goalie John Furphy (Philadelphia, Pa./Cardinal Dougherty) tried to keep things close as he made 10 saves. Cavalier keeper Eric Nowicki recorded three.

Gwynedd-Mercy finishes the season with a final record of 4-16.
